Coding a Timer, with 4 digit 7 segement display AND 74HC595
Using an arduino Uno with shift register and common cathode 4 digit display; I am trying to make a timer that will count down in minutes and seconds using a colon. I have a complete working prototype; along with code. but it isnt the code i need, and i thought i could teach myself how to revise the code to achieve my desired results. hours of countless research has led down many wrong paths . . .

And finally, here is a release of my fork of Pauls code. If you replace your current TimerOne library with this one then you will have R4 support for the timer functions but not the PWM functions. If you want the PWM functions then use something different. This isnt really the appropriate timer for that.

Hi, I want to use a timer interrupt on my Arduino Uno R4 Minima to execute a function in parallel to my program after a certain period (490 Hz). For the Uno R3 I have already managed this without problems for the timer 2 with the library TimerTwo. Since there is no library for the R4 yet, I have to set the registers myself. But I cant find the right registers in the datasheet to set the timer . . .

[SOLVED] How to correctly use millis () for delay - Arduino Forum
I just realised that I need a blocking Timer because it is in a for loop which is after that in the void loop! You absolutely do not, ever, need a blocking timer. Never, ever ever. Ever. No. Put the code that needs to run at a certain time into a new function then call that function from the timer.

[esp32] How to disable, reset and again enable timer
I am trying to disable and again enable timer on my ESP32 but I have a problem resetting or restarting it. I dont have right words for that, but basically need him to start counting from 0 again. In arduino it is TCNT1 register. I was trying timerRestart(timer) function but without success. Code below should print out 2 zeros but it prints 0 and 30 because counter inside timer do not resets . . .

Servo test program servo_timer_config: type:1 Channel: 1 Raw Period: 960000 Note: servo_timer. get_period_raw() returned a period of 960000 Which does not make sense, as I am pretty sure this is a 16 bit counter. Wonder maybe it did not like to do a period that long. So tried changing to 1500. Raw Period: 71999. Tried 750 -> 35999. Thoughts?
